Another great week in Taiwan has just flown by like crazy. But it has been awesome. I have learned so much.
We went to Carrefore. It was Sister Nelson's first time there. It’s kind of like a Walmart and where we get all of our groceries. Oh besides fruit. It is just easier and cheaper to get fruit off the street. They had Halloween stuff out. Man, I love Halloween! I miss our traditions that we had and dressing up! We might have a Halloween FHE next week. Yay!
Tonight our district went to our investigator's house to carol. She wasn't there but her mom was. She let us in and we sang hymns. She showed us around the house and elders helped her move some boxes. We found 3 Book of Mormon's in the house. They have 3!!!!! We left and on our way out our investigator came in. We stayed and sang to her as well. It was a miracle that she was on her way home when we were there. We love her so much (this is Liu Pin Shao). She is awesome but apparently our invites give her stress....
DTM was awesome! Toward the end of the DTM I felt prompted to say something. After I made my comment a few other people also commented and it changed the whole feel of the meeting in a positive way. I am so glad that I followed the promptings of the Holy Ghost and that I have his guidance in my life.
We went to the Bishop's house for dinner. I absolutely love him and his wife. They are so sweet and so loving. Bishop helped me see that free agency is all part of God's plan. Lately I have been frustrated with decisions of others. But he made me realize that it is not my problem. I am not in charge of how others use their free agency. All I have to do is love and serve and pray.
We went to a park today to eat our lunch. And then we played on the park of course. I love parks! But then an old man got really mad at us. "Those are for little kids!" -- OOPS!
We met with a new investigator today. Her name is Magee and she is so cute. She is a college student but apparently has a lot of free time. Her English is great too! We went out for steak and it was super good. Only $4 too! Man, I love Taiwan. We had a great first lesson. We asked her what it meant to her that we have God's authority on the earth now and she said, "well, now I can get baptized." yes you can! She didn't commit to a certain date but that’s ok, she is praying about it. I also saw a lady from my last area, Gao Jie Mei. She is sooooo cool.
We had a great lesson with Liu Pin Shao. Since our invites give her stress we told her that she can choose what to do. She committed to herself and God that she would read the Book of Mormon everyday. She told us that sometimes she forgets that God loves her. She told us to write little notes and she put them in her calendar so that she can always remember that God loves her and that we are praying for her.
We met with a girl from China who is here for school. Man, it is so much harder to understand people from Mainland China than Taiwanese people. Not just their accent but their choice of words. Taiwan is like America. Mainland China is like England. Chinese people like to fancy up their words. So there were a lot that I didn't understand. We shared the first lesson though and she was intently listening and asking questions. She is really awesome but not willing to "meet' with us because she will be going back to China really soon. :(
For dinner we got the famous Migao米高 which is a rice cake. Well actually it is more as if they stuffed rice into a cup and made a tower just like you do with sand or play dough. And some yummy bing. :)) You cant go wrong with bing.
We met with a LA and guess who came into the lesson with us! Her little sister who is RC from the other ward. We all read scriptures together and it was awesome :) Sometimes you just need to slow down and read the words of Christ.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAMI! Can't believe that you are already 16. That is scary.
I feel like this week our investigators are really feeling the Love of Jesus Christ and understanding His role in their life. It makes me very happy.
The most important thing in the world is Jesus Christ and coming closer to Him. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that we are always qualified for His love.
Love to you all and hope you have a great week :))
Till we meet again...
