Hello my dear family and friends! First off I would like to thank my family for being so supportive of me. You guys are absolutely amazing! I am so glad that I have a great relationship with each and every one of my family members. I am so grateful that Families Can Be Together Forever!
I LOVE YOU!
I am also so so so so grateful for the power of the priesthood. There have been emergencies here in the MTC and priesthood holders have had to anoint and bless. It's so cool that worthy young men can pull down the powers of heaven and heal someone!
I heard from Bishop this week - it was good to get a letter from him. Love ya Bishop Hansen!
Mon:
This was the first night that I broke down crying. I was a little bit discouraged because of the language. Chinese is so difficult! We went into a lesson and both of our Chinese just failed. Afterwards I just wanted to cry. And cry I did! I know it's hard but I also know that the Lord will help me. I have improved so much and I will keep on improving :) The Elders in my district are so sweet to me. Just trying to cheer me up the rest of the night, making jokes and such. I love all of them!
Tues:
I BROKE THE MILE RECORD! I try to be cool and run fast. I ended up breaking the 1 mile record on the indoor track in the gym. 5:38. OK my cross country friends ... don't make fun of me! You have to do 10 laps to make a mile and it's hard. Anyway, so an elder asked me to "train" him. He wants to try out for BYU track. And he's a sprinter. I have NO IDEA how to train a sprinter! He said that was ok - he just wanted to hurt everyday and work hard and well ... stay in shape. I told him to do a ladder workout ... muahahahahah! He died and he has yet to come up to me and ask for another hard workout. I usually see him playing basketball or something. You can still stay in shape while playing bball right?? Ya, so I think he's fine.

Wed: SISTER LUNG'S AND ELDER TEW'S BIRTHDAY! Sister Lung is in my zone and my roommate. She is the cutest Asian from Hong Kong. We made her a birthday cake out of candy. Elder Tew is an elder who is going to Tailand! He is sooooooo cool and the sweetest person you will ever meet. We also got a lot of new missionaries in! I love Wednesdays!!! |
I saw Allie Brethwhite and Annie (from USU XC) and of course Chelsey Johnson and Kate Hadley came! So glad to have them here!! I love them so much! So we have 20 new missionaries in our zone with 12 new sisters. WOW! They all seem really nice. Some have taken Chinese before, but most of them haven't.
Sooooo.....I am a terrible sister training leader. Some of the girls got locked out of their room at like 10:20. I had the phone (SO WEIRD USING TECHNOLOGY) and I had to call the front desk. We had to go to the front desk to get a spare key. Well...on the way to the main office I forgot my key that lets us in to every building....ummmmm....so we are stuck out of our residence hall and we cant get into the main office. Just 3 helpless little sister missionaries banging on widows. Well, its past quiet time so everyone is in their rooms. But then we saw two elders running to the main office in their PJs, with no shoes and toothbrushes...they had locked themselves out too. So we got into the building with them. It was quite the adventure!
Thurs:
So exhausted. Couldn't sleep. Taught Li Zhi Hao and that was stressful.
Literally that's pretty much all I wrote in my journal.
Fri:
ONE MONTH IN! This is day 31! Can't believe I have been here for that long!
Sister Liu and I got to teach a real investigator (gold tag). She wants to learn Chinese. She was handed down to us from the older sister training leaders. This was our first day of meeting with her. The first question I asked was, "How are you?" - and we got a 45 minute story about her life. She has 4 children, all with some medical issue. She has had a really hard time lately. But she is the sweetest lady and only wants what is best for her family. We were all bawling in the spare room. We didn't think to bring tissues.... Really she is an inspiration to me! I love her so much! We didn't get to teach her a lot of Chinese but that's ok. We really got to know her. Her husband came to pick her up and he started asking us a bunch of questions about the church. ie. Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, Family, God, Love, prayer. I was surprised that he hadn't learned about this stuff before. He is a goldtag so that means that he is taking lessons but he has no idea what the Book of Mormon is. Well, we got to explain everything. Sister Lung and Sister Wai came to join us. And we made a great team. There were tears shed and both of them wanted to hear each of our testimonies. It was a touching.
Sat:
I got to go to TRC's today! I swear I learn more in there than what I teach! It's so great!
Oh hey CONGRATS TO MADI BLEDSOE!!!! I LOVE YOU!
I got a package which was fantastic! Thanks family :) The stickers are prime.
We had our first interviews with the new sisters. I got to talk to 1/2 of them and then next week we will switch and I'll talk to the other 1/2. They are all really sweet :)) There is this one sister who just made me laugh the entire time! She is being fast tracked so I am sad to see her go. I am really sad to see all the fast tracked people go.

Sunday:
So Pres. Teng asked me about my sleeping...how did he know about my sleeping habits? Well, I haven't been sleeping very well and it's really affecting my focus. He suggested that it could be because of stress. Honestly I didn't think about it. But last night was better. So I'm not entirely sure what to do about that.
Our Temple walk was great as usual! We had a bigger group which was weird. So some of Sister Liu's friends came to see her. It wasn't planned. They were waiting there for a few hours. You're not allowed to do that. They didn't really understand. Even though it wasn't Sister Liu's fault - she felt bad. It took her focus away and it was hard for her to think about anything else because of all the gossip they were updating her with.

We had a great devotional as usual! Sister and Brother Mill's Spoke :)
We are singing "Nearer my God to Thee" for choir and it is amazing. Usually I sing soprano but I'm trying Alto.
SIster Lung and Siter Wai leave on Tuesday. I am so sad to see them leave :( It'll just be the two of us in our room again.
