This is terrible, but I forgot my planner today which had everything that I did for the week in it - and so I will have to use my memory to fill ya in on the Asian world.
We had exchanges this week. I went with the Sister Training Leader(STL) in her area and it was really fun! I like learning other ways to contact people and teach. Met some really cool people in her area too! Hey guess what Beau Fish?! She was serving in 西屯. So I was able to go to the chapel that was on the 19th floor of that huge building! Got some sweet pictures from the top!
Lots of rain this week!
We went to lunch with a recent convert and her friend. We had hotpot and it was so good! They also had unlimited rice and ice cream. It was like fake ice cream though ... but the rice was good! Sister Kwan (STL) had me try a bunch of Taiwanese food! She is American but she lived in Taiwan for 2 years before coming here on her mission. So she knows her stuff.
Gua Bao: it's like a Taiwanese hamburger. It's ground beef, onions and peppers with cheese in this really soft bun.
Dong Gua MoShi: Dong Gua Cha is a type of cold drink and what they do is add two big clumps of cream on top. It is really good!
Tang Yuan: this is like a little dumpling thing filled with black sesame. It is a famous taiwanese snack.
Cheese Bao Zi: it's a roll filled with crappy american cheese and meat.
Manguo Bing: Mangos, ice, and sweetened condensed milk on top. BEST DESSERT EVER!
Oh and on my way home I got this roll that was FILLED with butter. Like "pools of butter" - and the top of the roll had cinnamon sugar on it. You all are probably thinking, "Dang girl you are just a bowl of ice cream away from death!" ... eh probably ... but it's so good :)
So there's some fun food that I had all in less than 24 hours.
So- I met some more pretty awesome people this week! I met Little Hippo. I actually don't know her real name but she is a squatty little asian. Her english is really good and she is really funny. She is Sister Hughes's Recent Convert from her first area. She was in town for school and brought us KRISPY KREME DONUTS! Ummm you can only get those in certain places around Taiwan. They actually tasted like real donuts! Don't even ask how many I had haha.
Little Hippo gave me a nickname: Cinnamon.
I also met one of Sister Voss's Recent Converts from her first area, Caroline. Her English is perfect and she is hilarious! This is how she introduced herself on the phone to me, "Hi! I'm Caroline and I am BEAUTIFUL!" in her Taiwanese accent. "I just have to warn people because some can't handle it" she would say. Oh and she jokes about being engaged to Jonny Dept. Great choice right there!
Guess what?! Sister Lin (my companion in Arizona) is being transferred to SLC temple square for the summer. You should go see her!
Love you all! Happy Birthday Papa! Save me some cake :))
