HELLO HELLO!!! This week was so much better! Thanks for your prayers and love :))
Monday: I had an interview with my teacher. He told me that he thought I was a great missionary. You have no idea how happy I was to hear that. I wanted to cry. To have someone tell you that you are doing well is just amazing! One thing that I will never forget: I told him that I felt like the language was a barrier between me and letting the Spirit touch the hearts of the investigator. He told me, "The language is not a barrier but a tool. It's only a tool." Never thought about that before. But it gave me comfort and reassurance.
You know how I like to sing songs when I hear the lyrics in everyday conversation. Well, Sister Long is the same way.
Me: Am I the tallest out of all of you? (I actually am!)
Sister Long: “FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER!” (Frozen)
I absolutely love her!
Tuesday: Sister Wai and Sister Long left at 3 this morning. They accidentally slept in and so the morning was very rushed. I was really sad to see them go. But I didn't cry. I still felt like my heart was sinking. It was a new feeling that I haven't felt before. Kind of like a "break up" or "betrayal" feel … but tweaked.
Wednesday: We had new missionaries! I love hosting! But I felt very unproductive this morning ... just like I was going through the motions of MTC life and not really focusing or progressing. So I decided to use my time and brain muscles more efficiently for the rest of the day. I actually felt accomplished when I went to bed.
I got 2 packages today! One from The Packs - thanks for everything! And one from the dear ol’ fam.
I got my new GLASSES! I love them - Good choice Kami :))

Thursday: 2 PACKAGES AGAIN!!! One from mom with my new scriptures! They are beautiful! It's really nice looking things up with new crisp pages :) And I got a letter and package from the Rusnell family. You guys are really amazing! Thanks for all the treats. I'll be blaming you if I gain 20 pounds ;) It's really good to hear from you.
So there is this teacher, Wu Lao Shi, who taught us for a week until he got a new district to teach. One time he had to rush after class to go on a date. Being the little girls we are we bugged him about his dating life. Now everyday we ask him if he has a date for the night or not. Well...This week they broke up. We felt SO BAD! So to brighten his day we wrote him a card and gave him candy. You'll see in the pictures that I send how DUMB it is. Wu Lao Shi never speaks english sentences to us. Only words here and there. After opening our letter he said a full sentence, "THIS IS SO DUMB." Thanks Wu Lao Shi...we know :)))
We also got strawberries in the cafeteria today!! Aimee – you’re gonna die. They only have strawberries like every two weeks here! So that was a treat.
Friday: 2 MORE PACKAGES! The elders in my district are wondering who I'm paying to feel so loved. One from Nana and Papa. Thanks for the cute mug and chocolate cake-balls! You'll be receiving a letter from me soon :) And a Valentine package from my family. Thanks so much! Sister Liu says thank you too. You will also be receiving a letter this week :) Yay for candy and love and socks and balloons. Now our room looks like ummm how do you say it? FABULOUS!
So sister Liu has this friend who is going to Cambodia. He is obnoxious but the funniest person you will ever meet. We made friends with his roommates and they all are just great! We get together during gym and talk and we see them everywhere. It's fun to make friends :) I have learned how to say hello in Tai! It sounds like "sweaty car". Thanks for teaching me Elder Tew!

We had our last interviews as Sister Training Leaders. I am so sad that I have to give up this position tomorrow but I am excited for Sister Hadley and Sister Lambourn to take over. I actually felt like tonight I was able to act like a leader and a friend to all of these girls. Our interviews were about 45 minutes each (Well one girl took over an hour) just because we talk and I can hear their concerns. I think I did better at showing my love for them this week :) It was easier because I know them a lot better.
Sunday: Sister Liu's leg has been hurting really bad lately. We don't know what it is and we tried going to the medical center but...they were closed. It feels better when there is pressure on it so we found some wrap. It's gone now (after 5 hours) But I'm afraid that it'll come back.
I am so grateful to have the gift of the Spirit! You can have this constant spirit with you to comfort you and to guide you. You know that you are doing what the Lord wants you to do if you follow the promptings.
I was reading in James for my personal study today and came across James 1:8. " A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." This could be on a fortune cookie! It's so true though!
NEW QUOTE FOR THE DAY! :))) Can't be serv'n dem 2 masters!

We were treated as guinea pigs tonight. We were taken to the west campus to test out a new room. We watched a devotional from President Bednar. It was cool! FIELD TRIP! On the bus I was sitting right behind Sister (Chelsey) Johnson and old Davis XC trips came back to me. I looked at the back of the bus and half expect the boys to be fitting 20 people in the bathroom. Oh those were good times :)) Quote of the week: "The people in your heart can't hear your heart. Let the people in your heart know what's in your heart." HOPE Y'ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! |
