We were sitting there. We saw the 21 new missionaries. Jet lagged but still energized. The Spirit bursting from within their eyes. My heart was pumping. Looking around wondering who I would be with for the next 12 weeks.
"Sister Graham" says Sister Daknis. Sister Daknis is from Colorado and she is awesome! She grew up with five brothers. Not used to living with a girl haha. She is such a hard worker and has lots of spiritual experiences to share with the people here in Taiwan. She is so stoked to be here in Taiwan and to serve the people here. We have already had fun adventures together. First day we had to use the elder's spare bikes. But one was locked...they didn't know the lock combo...awkward. So they gave us another one. One block down the road the chain got stuck in the gears. We muscled to get it out. People here are super nice. We were on the side of the road with black all over our hands. Three different people came by, not to help us, but to hand us tissues and bags so that we don't get grease all over us. The elder's then came to our rescue. We got a picture of us with our black hands.

I had a cool experience while praying. So we were sent down to Gao Xiong. We are in the San Min ward. It is a very small area but the members are great! Anywho - the elders scheduled us to visit two LA's the first day. Did we know where they lived? No. They gave us their address...even though the area is small I could not find where they lived. The maps are all in Chinese and in super small print. I felt myself getting frustrated so I closed my eyes and said a prayer. I pleaded with God to help me find this person's house. I opened my eyes and like five seconds after I found it! God answers prayers when we need His help and when we are willing to call for His help.
Everything down here is soooooo different. The people, culture, food, and language. It is super weird. I feel like I just got on island like Sister Daknis. When people say or do something that she doesn't know what it was she will ask me...about 50% the time I have no idea. We get lost...a lot. But we meet lots of cool people. We have the first time for everything. Like getting bit. We went to the park the other day and there are these little black bugs that just bite and bite and bite. My legs look like they have chicken pocks and they itch like crazy. Feel sorry that Sister Daknis's first experience in Taiwan is this crazy. It'll smooth out.
Leaving Sha Lu was sad. We ate at a lot of members houses for the last time. Good thing too because Sister Rumsey completely ran out of money. We were very blessed.
We were able to see the General Women's Conference last night.
Really good! A lot of prayers were answered and heart comforted.
I love you all! And see you next week.
