Hello from Arizona!
The weather is so strange to me ... HOT ... I'm really not used to this. But it is actually great! I am in a driving mission so we get air conditioning in the car :) HOLLA!
Ummm....I totally forgot my journal in the apartment so I cant really do the whole day to day thing - and all the events of the week are kind of mushed together in my head. So first off yes, my mission president is HUGE! He is 7 feet all - and standing next to me I don't even reach his armpit. His wife is my height though, and she is the sweetest lady.
First miracle in Arizona: President Toone let us take a 2 hour nap! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY THAT MADE ME! Like....I cried because I was so happy for a nap. I had probably had roughly 4 hours of sleep in 48 hours. Just because of packing and goodbyes and such. Well, I really needed that nap. And I was a bright little flower when I woke up :) No crankiness or nuffin - it was great!
We spent a couple of days in the mission home. It was so nice! Amazing food and a track right across the street. I am feeling a lot better so I was able to run in the morning. Oh I met someone who went to BYU with Brad Nye. I honestly cant remember his name. But they ran together. And I met Scott Taylor's old companion! How fun is that! :) Wow what a small world.
Second miracle: MY COMPANION IS FROM TAIWAN! Sister Lin is absolutely amazing :)) She is full of light and love. I am still sick (oh and have a pink eye) and she is so patient with all of my coughing attacks and my scary face. She is also patient with my Chinese. She has been a HUGE help to me with the language. I can listen and understand but I have a really hard time speaking fast. But she is so great to practice with me. I had my first lesson in Chinese witch was dope!
Oh a fun thing changed! I can check emails throughout the whole week! I just cant reply :) So instead of a dearelder I can get emails now :) which is so fun! I got an email from Hannah Albrechson and it totally made my day to hear from her :) And it wasn't even my P-day!
I absolutely love my district and zone. Everyone is so nice and supportive! I love it :)) We have a great time together! And tonight we are all going to make sushi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every night we eat with a member. REAL FOOD! I eat everything and I think I've put on a lot of weight. But I haven't had good food in forever!
Well, hope everyone is doing well. I love hearing news about k-town :))
Quote of the week: "The Lord made 7 perfect holes for you." If you dont know what this means wait until the September Ensign. There will be a poem called, HOLES. It's about Christ's Atonement and it is sooo good! Really puts things into perspective.
I have a strong testimony of Christ's Atonement. I know that Jesus suffered for EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US. I know that everyone says that so it is very redundant - but I KNOW IT'S TRUE! I have definitely felt Christ's influence in my daily life here in Arizona. I truly know that I can use the Atonement for comfort and repentance. I know that God and Jesus Christ know me PERSONALLY and want me to be happy. I know that Christ lives and by his WILLING sacrifice I can live too. And live with my family forever!
Love you all!
