So before I write anything else I wanna tell a story that happened last night. Sister Carlson and I were riding our bikes behind a brother from the ward’s car to his house to eat with his family. I contacted a guy on the way. The light turned green and the brother drove off so there was no time to continue conversation with him. We arrived at the brother’s house and guess who followed us. THE GUY THAT I CONTACTED ON THE STREET! How creepy is that! The brother invited him in to eat with us. He told us that he saw that we were part of a church and he was interested and wanted to know where we were going. So he followed us. The brother and the guy had a great gospel conversation. We sang hymns and explained who God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost were. The spirit was really strong while we were singing songs. And he even started to cry while reading in 3 Nephi. Anyhoo - he was going to come back to the church with us so that we could introduce him to the elders. The brother was in his car, showed us the way back to the church and then left! So we were all alone with this guy. We called the Elders and told them to hurry their behinds over here. Finally the elders came and another brother (Abei). He's like 60. We were planning on having family home evening but no one showed up :( We were going to start with a prayer. And the elders asked the new guy to say it. He refused. Abei explained that prayer is super simple and you can pray to get baptized really fast. He refused. Abei asked why he was there then. after a little argument he said "to pick up chicks." Abei was so mad and threatened him. A fight was about to start but then the guy stormed out. It was epic! And really scary! Sister Carlson and I had no idea! We were thinking he was a golden investigator! They really need to teach us how to read “male signs” in the MTC. Now I am a little paranoid about contacting males.
Well, I have like no time left. Wish I could record everything that has happened this week.
So I have seen lots of miracles this week. Nothing big. And nothing really new. But my awe in the gospel and in Jesus Christ just keeps on being reaffirmed. For example I was looking at a pencil yesterday. What can you do with a pencil? You can draw, you can make a masterpiece. You can also write words. You can take this little tool and create something miraculous. You can express what is in your mind and heart. God created us. He created our minds so that we can think and act for ourselves. He created our hearts so that we can feel. HOW COOL IS THAT!! It really is a miracle to be alive.
